Monument Apps, LLC Community Guidelines

These Community Guidelines apply to UpTo and to any other Monument Apps, LLC service that lets people post content or connect with one another. They form part of our Terms of Service.

UpTo is a private space for people who already know each other. There is no public feed, no discovery, and no recommendation algorithm. What you post is visible to the friends you have accepted, and to nobody else. These guidelines exist so that the space stays worth being in.

These guidelines are effective as of 10 August 2026.

We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior

Do not post, upload, share, or send any of the following. Accounts that do may have the content removed and the account suspended or terminated, without notice and at our sole discretion.

  • Harassment or bullying. Targeting, threatening, intimidating, or repeatedly contacting someone who does not want to hear from you.
  • Hate speech. Attacking or demeaning people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, caste, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or serious disease.
  • Sexual content. Pornography, sexually explicit material, and any sexual content involving a minor. Content that sexually exploits or endangers a child is reported to the appropriate authorities and the account is terminated permanently.
  • Violence and threats. Credible threats of violence, incitement, glorification of violence or self-harm, and graphic or gratuitous violent imagery.
  • Spam and manipulation. Bulk or repetitive posting, unsolicited promotion, scams, phishing, and artificial or automated activity.
  • Impersonation. Pretending to be another person or organization, or misrepresenting your identity in a way intended to deceive.
  • Privacy violations. Posting someone else's private information — home address, phone number, financial or identity documents — or sharing intimate images of a person without their consent.
  • Illegal activity. Anything unlawful, including the sale of regulated goods, and any content that infringes someone else's intellectual property.

Photographs of other people deserve particular care. Only post a photo of someone if you are confident they would be comfortable with the friends who can see it seeing it.

Reporting content or an account

Every post, comment, and profile in UpTo can be reported from inside the app. Choose the category that fits — harassment, hate speech, sexual content, violence, spam, impersonation, a privacy violation, or something else — and add context if it helps.

Reporting is private. The person you report is not told who reported them. To keep the queue usable, an account may submit up to ten reports in any twenty-four hour period, and reporting the same thing twice is not necessary.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. We are a small team and cannot act at the speed an emergency requires.

Blocking someone

Reporting and blocking are deliberately separate, so that reporting something does not force a change in who you are connected to. Blocking is available on its own from the Friends screen.

Blocking someone immediately removes the connection between you. Neither account can see the other's profile or posts, and neither can accept an invitation from the other while the block stands. You can undo a block at any time from Settings.

How we review reports

We review reports ourselves. We prioritize credible threats, child safety, non-consensual intimate imagery, and exposed private information above everything else.

A report moves from open, to under review, to either actioned or dismissed. Where a report establishes a violation, we remove the content, and we suspend or terminate the responsible account depending on the severity and on whether it has happened before. Where the material is legally reportable or the threat is imminent, we escalate it to the appropriate authority.

We look at the minimum amount of information needed to judge a report, and we do not copy private content into general-purpose tools. We keep the report itself as a moderation record even if the content it concerned is later deleted. If you delete your account, the reports you submitted are deleted with it.

We will tell you the outcome of a report you made where it is safe and appropriate to do so. We will never reveal who reported you.

If we act on your account

If we remove your content or suspend your account and you believe we have made a mistake, write to us at hello@monumentapps.com and we will look again. Include the account email address so we can find the right record.
